With the addition of Peter Forsberg to the Nashville Predators, the Preds have greatly improved their odds to win the Stanley Cup this year.

Up to this point, we've been leading the league as kind of a surprise but adding Forsberg paints a big bullseye on our team. Unless there's a significant Forsberg injury, I say that the Predators are the odds on favorite to win it all.

The other great thing is that we didn't completely mortgage our future for a 1 year shot. Since the Preds have grown thru the draft, we've got an overabundance of young talented players. In a way, we were too deep with young talent before the trade. I may not be the expert that some of you are but it looks to me like we're a great postion for a 2-3 year run at the title.

Obviously we want to be there this year and this trade is a clear sign that the Predators frnt office is going for the 2007 Stanley Cup. But whether we win it all this year or not, you've got like our chances against the 2006-2007 NHL schedule.
