I know it was in 1969, the weekend of the first NASCAR Talladega race, when the PDA boycotted the race and Richard Brickhouse scored his only NASCAR win.

I haven't found who won it or what the race was dubbed.

wrong. the question is what was the ARCA race at Talladega that year called.


and the answer is: The ARCA RE/MAX Series began competition the first year the 2.66-mile tri-oval opened. The first event was the Oct. 26, 1969 Vulcan 500.

I was actually following my nose at Jim Vandiver's website 'cause I was drawing blanks on finding anything "old" on ARCA.
