-It was the only Daytona race run as the NASCAR Strictly Stock Series. In 1950 they changed the name of the series to Grand National. - It wasn't run in February. It was run in July. - It was the first NASCAR race which had one owner with multiple teams. Sara Christain owned the car she drove plus ('49 Olds) plus the '47 Ford Buckshot Morris drove.
