Thumbs up A True Moonshine Runner!

This driver delivered moonshine as a teenager on his bicycle and a few years later he was making trips in his car from Atlanta to Dawsonville, Georgia hauling moonshine. He once said that he would seek out the sheriff and get him on a chase because he had a faster car. He would send off to California and get the best parts for his car so the sheriff couldn't keep up with him and he loved to tease them.

Who was this famous NASCAR driver?

i Guess that it's safe to assume it isn't Reed Sorenson?

Going strictly on a SWAG here I'll go with one of ther Brothers Flock. Since he was the youngest (I think) I'll pick Tim.

I'm going with another guess:

Frank Mundy (had three wins in a '51 Studebaker Starlight Coupe)

Probably not. I don't think he was famous enough. But... I still think it was one of the Flocks.

Re: A True Moonshine Runner!

<snapping fingers> third, and final guess... It could have been the subject of a couple other trivia questions you've asked, Duck.. The unforgettable Goober Sosebee.

That leaves Bob and Fonty... I can't picture Fonty on a bike (his mustache just doesn't seem to fit), so let's go with Bob.

so much for perceptions .. Fonty didn't have a mustache as a kid but he ran 'shine riding a bicycle and is the right answer to this question.
