Fewest To Finish

ok, this may be odd, but i still wanted to ask ..... i dont know the answer to this trivia question ....... but im sure some of you may know or at least have the tools to find it (and since when has not knowing something stopped me from posting before)

the question is: what was the fewest # of cars to be on the track at the finish of a race?

hope it is clear enough what im getting at

Re: Fewest To Finish

Modern era races would probably be Talladega 7/27/1986 14 cars. If that was a guess Vince ... great guess.

Re: Fewest To Finish

I imagine you probably have to go back to a race that started under 20 0r 30 cars.

I'm not sure about this one, but the '56 race at the dirt track in Norfolk VA would be a good guess. Only 7 finished, but there may not have even been 15 starters.

Now I gotta get to bed!

Also, the modern era started in '71

When did Winston come in? I know that's what alot of people considered to be the modern era start. BOB, where are you.

most everyone believes the modern era began when Winston came on board. that was in 1972. good history here
