| 2 Records for Most Wins anyone who has been around NASCAR for any length of time knows Richard Petty, aka "The King", owns the record for most wins with 200. in 1972 NASCAR decided to begin keeping "modern era" records. two drivers hold the record for most wins in a single season: pre-72 and "modern era": who are these drivers and what is their record setting number?

| Re: 2 Records for Most Wins One of them is real easy. Richard Petty, 1967, 27 wins If I understand the question correctly then the second would be Richard Petty, 1975, 13 wins in a 30 race season. Jeff Gordon also has a 13 win season, 1998, but it was over a 33 race season.
