The Decade 1990 results are in.
The 90's saw 5 of the legends of NASCAR fighting it out .. and the results, though a little surprising to some, reinforce the standings of these powerhouses, though some would argue the order is wrong.
- There were 10 seasons with a total of 309 races included in the Decade 1990.
- 46 drivers shared 927 podiums, leading with Martin-101, Earnhardt-99 and J. Gordon-93.
- with the most wins at 49, J. Gordon lead the pack with Earnhardt-35 and R.Wallace-33 following.
- charting 36 2nd place podiums, Earhardt nosed Martin-35 followed by Jarrett-25.
- Martin out ran his competitors for 3rd place podiums with 36, while Earnhardt-28 and Jarrett-25 followed.
Although Martin had 6 championship podiums (2nd:3, 3rd:3) they weren't good enough to top Earnhardt's 5 (1st:4, 2nd:1) or J. Gordon's 4 (1st:3, 2nd:1) in points. Jarrett also had 4 (1st:1, 2nd:1, 3rd:2) but not enough points to unseat any of the leaders.
Based on the points assigned to each podium level, the top 3 drivers for Decade 1990 are:
- J. Gordon-225
- Earnhardt-219
- Martin-205
Following immediately behind these 3 were R. Wallace-169 and Jarrett-148. No others were in triple digits.
