The Long and Short of It

How short do you think the shortest track is that Cup has raced on?
How long do you think the longest track is that Cup has raced on ?

Re: The Long and Short of It

I assume that answer was for the shortest....

in either case, your answer is incorrect.

Sorry Ducky ... yes, shortest. I'd go with Talladega for longest oval but that doesn't include road courses. Not real alert to track lengths.

Talladega is, indeed the longest oval. but the question said "longest track". For that one I'd take either of two different tracks as the answer because the difference in length is only about 370 feet..

on the shortest track, there are well over a dozen tracks smaller than 3/8 mile that have hosted Cup races....

Twin Ring Motegi is an automobile racing track located at Motegi, Japan. Its name comes from the fact that there are two race tracks at the facility: a 1.549 mile oval (2.493 kilometers) and a 4.8 kilometer (2.983 miles) road course.

i believe they raced the road course when they went there

I think you're right .. but that's not the answer to the question.

Hint: they are both considered road courses are/were much longer than Motegi or Talladega.
