I'll go strictly on memory here, YELK. I might have a few minor points wrong but you'll get the basic answer
Glen Dunwiddy.
He was driving a black 1948 or 1949 Ford coupe.
He was disqualified after the race because NASCAR/ Bill France Sr. enforced the Strictly Stock rule and Glen was found to have run a car set up to carry shine and was running non-stock truck springs with an extra leaf added. He was awarded last place and Jim Roper was given the official win, driving a stock 49 Lincoln.
I'd have to look at my records to give you the owner of the car but I'll take a SWAG at it. I'll guess Frank Christain. I believe Christain had a history of running hoochand and his wife, Sara ran one of his cars in the race, but I seem to recall he entered two cars?
How'd I do?
