The Glenn Trivia

Let's see how many know the answers to these trivia questions.

These questions are in reference to Cup races at the Glen, so don't bother with non-Cup trivia.
  1. How many Cup races previous to 2009 have there been?
  2. How many times has the winner started on the pole? Who did it last? When?
  3. What winner had the worst starting position? What position? When?
  4. What winner led the most laps? How many? When?
  5. What winner led the fewest laps? How many? When?
  6. What is the fastest qualifying speed? Who? When?
  7. What is the closest win margin)? Who? When?
  8. What race had the most cautions? How many?
  9. What race had the fewest cautions? How many?
  10. What race had the most lead changes? How many?
Bonus Question: Since the 2000 race the average green-flag run has been how many laps?

You don't get anything for getting the bonus right except the knowledge that you knew the answer (or at least was able to find it! )

I have some quick answers. I'll let some others do the leg work on the hard ones
1. 26
2. 9 Last time was 2008 - Shrub
3. 18th Steve Park - 2000
4.
5.
6. Jeffie-Pooh 124.58 - 2003
7. For a long while it was Rusty over Mark Martin by 1.06 Sec in 1989? It's probably less than that now.
8.
9. The first race in 1957 was caution free
10.

Bonus.

Way to go, Bob!

But I think you blew the Bonus question (Since the 2000 race the average green-flag run has been how many laps?). You answered a different question (What is the average number of green flag laps per race Since 2000?) The answer to the Bonus Question is: 10 (not counting the 2009 race, of course.)

Yup, yup, yup. I blew that one, didn't I? I gave you average green TOTAL green flag laps per race.

Not counting the 2009 race I'm coming up with an average green flag run of 11.877 laps? When I figure it race by race I come up with 12.901? I'm doing something wrong...Got any ideas what? I just don't see how they came up with 10.

I'll chalk it off to them doing the calculations in new math. I'll keep balancing my own check book, rather than ask the folks who came up with their answer to do it. <g>
