Ahhhh yes ... the opinion factor rises once again. When Dale Sr. died it became apparent to many that racing had lost more than a driver. He was a leader for NASCAR and for the drivers. For me and while he was alive I never liked his style of driving. I can't prove it but I have to believe there are others that can confirm it, but Sr. was not loved by everyone due to his driving style. His abilities were above average but when you need to do the bump and run style of driving you are going to irritate fans and drivers alike. So please understand that while you may feel that it was acceptable for Sr. to drive with the style he did .... not everyone found it OK. In my view anyone who bumps another driver out of the way and causes an accident for one driver or 15 drivers deserves ZERO respect. I feel there should be penalties (major penalties) for this type of driving.
As always ... just my opinion.
