Did you ever notice throughout different threads: all the drug allegations in other sports verses NASCAR run rampant. There are hardly ever any drug use allegations in NASCAR, where as almost every other sport there are drug use allegations and postive tests. Granted, there has been a few times, but it seems to be the cleanest sport out there. We have all the allegations in baseball, football, tennis, cycling, Olympics, etc., but there are far and few between in NASCAR. Unfortunately, there are many people who don't believe that NASCAR is a sport. I believe that NASCAR is a sport as much as anything else they consider to be a sport. Opinions, thoughts on this matter?!?

I'm not going to look for stats to back myself up, this is just my opinion and what I think is common sense. Urine test are done random, and I only know of one, that tested positive. That is in NASCAR. The number one reason I think that driver's do not use drugs is they would like to survive running a Car 200 miles an hr around and oval. That speed can not be driven if reflexes are impaired.

I believe that NASCAR tests them all at the beginning of every year. I realize that it would be crazy to try and drive a car at 200 miles an hour on some kind of drug, I'm just saying that it should matter to these other guys just as much!!!! They have multi-million dollar contracts and act like they are "God's gift" pretending to be "our childrens role models". I don't have children, but if I did, I'd much rather they look up to a NASCAR driver then have them look up to any other of these of guys. If it's not drugs, then it's "domestic abuse" or some sort of "weapons" deal, there doesn't seem to be any of that going on in NASCAR, just almost all the other sports.

one thing I'll give NASCAR is that they step up to the plate and dole out suspensions up front, do it again and your gone for life.

I'd love to see that in football, alot of those guys are a$$e$, and never own up to thier own actions. it's really sad

My only question would be how often testing is done and what they test for versus what other sports test for. I will always argue that drivers are athletes but to what degree would the body enhancing drugs help them ?

I think alot of the problems in the other sports is the way the kids that show potential at an early age are catered to from that point on. They get passed through school and are never said no to as long as they can play their sport. As a result they never really learn right from wrong because they are treated as prima donna's. Just the opposite in my opinion in motor sports. Most of the participants start at an early age and learn that they are better racers by learning how to build or set up a car. They have learned that nothing is going to be handed to you and you have to work to get where you want to go.
