However, he is, from my point of view, one of NASCAR's most maligned competitors. Like many new drivers he started out by tearing up a lot of equipment, both his own and that of others. However, instead of kow-towing and saying copious mea culpa's, he just kept on racing. This didn't endear him to many of NASCAR's faithful. Robby gained my respect a couple of years ago when he legally passed Harvick under yellow on the last lap at The Glen. At the driver's meeting Robby telegraphed that if the race came down to a yellow finish he would do this and got NASCAR's blessing. He passed Kevin on the last lap under yellow and Kev-Baby has a little hissy-fit! Much gashing of teeth and tearing of hair ensued and then Jeffie-Pooh got into the act and publicly criticized Robby for pulling the stunt. A reported asked Robby for his response and (I'll never forget this gem!) Robby smiled and said, "Do you REALLY think I care what Jeff Gordon says about me?" Point awarded to Robby. The next day Harvick was asked about Robby's response on XM by Clare B. Lang (A NASCAR Kool-Aid drinker if there ever was one) and Kevie replied, "Well, Robby had better care about what Jeff says because he and Dale Earnhardt Jr are the real spokesmen of today's NASCAR." Keep in mind the above was said when Rusty, Mark Martin, Dale Jarrett, Terry Labonte, and a couple others I could name were active drivers. Deduct three points from Kevin's total for abject dumbness. Keep going, Robby. You have one fan out here, anyway.

| Re: Hey Ain't Robby Gordon Fun Robby can drive anything. Jumps in the Dale Junior car that McFarland could only wreck and finishes 3rd. I am a big Robby fan. Hopefully he'll align w/another team for next year. |

| Re: Hey Ain't Robby Gordon Fun NASCAR.COM - Cross' Words: Michigan - Aug 21, 2006 • Robby Gordon's 12th-place finish was his sixth top-20 run in the past seven races and 13th this year; the team had five top-20s in 2005. Last year, Gordon suffered through 13 DNFs; he has only four in 2006. The Spin: Gordon moved up two spots, to 24th, and is out-performing headline-grabbers Dale Jarrett, Jeremy Mayfield and Michael Waltrip. C'mon, Toyota, where's the love? R.G. should be the face of Camry in 2007, so move forward already. Devil's Advocate: There is no downside! Gordon is marketable. He's savvy. He's young (turns 38 in January). He has talent and experience. He also runs a one-car team like he stole it and is holding his own against the multi-car giants. Make the investment and turn this guy loose; he's a lot more than a road-course warrior. ![]() |

I will admit for a one car team he has come a long way this year. I'm not always impressed with his attitude but he is surging forward with his experience. He is one that I'd be happy to see win a race or two real soon.
