the pits

Why do they keep the pits closed for a couple of laps when the caution comes out? If the wreck or debris is at the entrance to pit road I can understand that, but why the delay other times. Also it sounds like that the lead cars pit first and the lap down cars go next, so I assume any yellow flag is always at least 2 laps?

Re: the pits

2 laps is a quicky yellow. I think it's usually atleast 4. 1-2 laps of the pits closed. the other 2 for pitting.
