From where I stand the NYC awards Ceremonies are over-hyped, over-done and over not soon enough. I believe the entire fiasco is lost on the people who live and work in Manhatten. These folks are used to seeing millionaires, world leaders and other people a lot more important than some kid in a semi-formal outfit holding up traffic on 42th Street in a rolling billboard with loud pipes. I believe the entire effect is wasted on the local natives.

I'm going to side with Ross on this one (I believe).

I think Ross was thinking about the possibility of a track in NYC. If so, I think that'll happen about the same time I begin to praise this "New NASCAR."

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. NASCAR has tried over and over to get something started close to The Big Apple, but I just do NOT see it happening, any time soon, anyway.

NYC is strictly a stick&ball city, its inhabitants have hardly ever had any real love affair with automobiles, and real estate is far too valuable to squander it on something that would be used only a very few times each calendar year. Then when you throw in the amount of taxes, NASCAR'd have to pay, not to mention the baktisch (any soldier who has spent time over on the sandpile is familar with THAT term) they'd have to pay just to get the job done, puts a track in NYC, Staten Island, Meadowlands, or anyplace close totally out of NASCAR's league. (IMNSVHO)

The Staten Island track never got any support from what I hear. Doesn't suprise me from that bunch of Yankees(no offense to the Yankees in this forum that are avid nascar fans).

I said AWARD CEREMONIES, not a race......

But I agree about the track, land too valueable, New Yorkers into ball sports....and this Yankee was not offended...
