Mervin, I will tell you what I tell others that are new to
NASCAR, go ahead and watch the rest of the season, be interested in the Chase, get a feel for the sport and what it entails. Then pick a driver that you have a sort of "connection" with. There are a total of 48-50 drivers trying to qualify for 43 spots on the track. If you can, watch the SPEED channel from Fri-Sun. There you can get some info on some of the drivers. Maybe log onto NASCAR.com and do some research. I was watching
NASCAR a long time ago when some of the people in the booth were racing. I think if you can get into the sport just like you are into the Yankees, you will have a good time.
Also, don't be afraid to log on and ask questions. All the fans on here will be more than happy to explain things the best that they can. We are a small "community", but we are growing. With a bunch of people that have at least some knowledge of the sport, your questions should be answered. You can even PM me if you want.
