I caught parts of a Larry McReynolds interview on the John Boy & Billy radio show this morning. He had an idea to tweek the points race so that after 13 races the top 3 would be guaranteed a spot in the chase. I'm thinking why even bother with the racing anymore. Just see who is willing to pay the most money and let them buy the championship. After all if you are going to gurantee a spot before the season is half done why bother even having a race season. We all have seen drivers with a hot & cold start or finish thoughout the entire season. This chase thing seems to get dumber and dumber. I still think the easiest thing to do is just award more points for a win, leave everything else alone and let them all race for 36 weeks and the most consistant competitor will win.

I believe that NASCAR is 2nd in tv ratings. The NFL ranks 1st. hmmm. The "Chase" starts in September, so does the NFL season.

LOL It sure is hard to be a fan of both at that time of the year. A lot of flipping back and forth. Most of the time I just watch the football game and then flip over to the race after the game is over. With all the races starting later than they have in years past, I should still be able to watch a good part of the race.

Too bad I don't have two tv's in my room! lol

Well you can always tape the race and watch after the game, zipping through the commercials. After all they stop the ball game for commercials so you don't miss anything.
