Great Article on Stewart & The Pettys

Hi everyone,
There is an awesome article on Nascar.com regarding Tony Stewart's donation to Victory Junction Gang at New Hampshire, the racetrack where Adam Petty was killed. Patty Petty had never been to the track and Tony got her to go for closure. The only way he knew she would go was if he donated money to the camp. It's a cool article, it brought tears to my eyes.

My pleasure Smokey. I love kids and I don't care who you are, if you do something for them you deserve a big hearty thanks. Those lil buggers are our future and one day we may need them to take care of us.n In the case of the Victory Junction Gang there is no way anyone can do enough for those angels.

Kyle and Pattie Petty accept a $1 million donation to the Victory Junction Gang Camp from Tony Stewart.

"I think that just shows the level of compassion that Tony Stewart, the man that I know, the man with the heart, has for his competitors as much as for driving a racecar."

Everyone needs to read this story, its not just about Tony . Its Also about Pattie Petty's strengh.

Re: Great Article on Stewart & The Pettys

One of the things that seperates Tony from many of the other materialistic drivers, team members etc is that he does these wonderful things primarily behind the scenes...for the good of the children and others, not for the notariety and attention that he may achieve. Tony would give even if no one else knew about it...it is in the heart and that is one of the realities that makes him a champion of men and humanity...notwithstanding his teriffic talent and abilities...May God Bless him. Do anyone note the humility he displayed prior to the last race when he was asked about his latest donation to this great cause? Wams the cockels of my heart...

I saw Tony at a fan signing when he came to Portland and he is really really nice in person. I wish I could meet him again! I would also love to visit Victory Junction Camp, I think that would just be absolutely awesome. If you donate money, they send you a newsletter every so often that lets you know about fun tidbits.

Oh, wampin, I forgot to say I loved the above post!

A good definition of character (I wish I could remember who said it) is:

Character is doing the right thing when no one is looking.

Works for me!
