Jamie McMurray

For the life of me, I can't figure out how this team isn't more competitive. You hear things like "they're still looking for the chemistry" etc., but you take a good driver and a fast car and perform this badly?

I think Jamie made the wrong move. He's a fair driver and cound improved tremendously under the right leadership. Roush is to big, wanting to much, to fast. Course all the owners are starting to be that way, to much pressure on what are KID'S.

He flat out has to qualify better, correct me if I'm wrong, but he seems to get mixed up in the "big one" every time, that is sometimes an unfortunate byproduct of poor qualifying.

That's a good point, however, how many times has Biffle and Kenseth started towards the back this year and marched up to the front.

Both are better drivers, both are more mature. developing skills takes time.

Re: Jamie McMurray

I hate to bring up luck, but Jamie got that win at Charlotte using strategy, and strategy does take a little luck to work out a times. I think Jamie is a bit over rated because of that and everybody expects him to do much better than he is.

It's too bad, because he is the kind of kid that most, or at least I would like to see succeed in NNCS. Crown Royal is good too.

He's still young. He has time. I agree with what Granny said. He may have beeen better off staying with Ganassi, who gave him a ride in the first place.

It was probably the right move for him on paper but I always look at these situations and thgink that something within the entire team concept isn't quite right. Jamie is a fair driver. Better than some worse than others. He's proven that he can win so what else is left other than the probability that the entire team just isn't on the same page .... yet. Given enough time they might find the missing link and turn into a Rousch powerhouse.

At the time Jamie made the decision, Rusty was away. Elliott sort of talked him into making the move. Time Rusty got back, it was to late. It's a shame, I think Jamie would of shown better if he would of stayed where he was. Another reason I don't like Roush, he did this behind everyones back then cryed when Kurt left him. I know people don't like Kurt, but the way I see it he is happier and a whole lot likeable since he got away from Roush. Lets see how much Roush will stand behind him with his poor preformance.

For the life of me I can't figure out why Roush made the crew chief shuffle.. Fennig out, Bob Osbourne (#99 Edwards) to Jamie and Wally Brown (Who in the heck is he?) to Carl. If the smartest car owner in Cup, wasn't involved, I'd say this move had all the intelligence of the infamous #8-#15 swap at DEI.

It almost looks like Jack took two successful teams and two very good drivers and set both up for failure? But, what do I know?

Re: Jamie McMurray

McMurray is a definate mystery. He shocked everyone when he stepped in Sterling Marlins Coors Light Dodge and won either his 1st or 2nd time in a Cup car. I think it was 2001 and Sterling was stomping everyone in points that year until he got hurt.
