| CTS -Memphis Once again, the trucks put on what might be the best race of the weekend. Congratulations to Jack Sprague for a veteran move on the restart in the green/white/checkered finish. Also congrats to Erik Darnell for almost getting the win in an unsponsored truck! I enjoyed watching his dad drive in the Chicago area years ago and hope the kid makes it to Cup. I was hoping to see Marcus Ambrose, the Tasmanian Devil , have another good race but... the kid still has some major learning to do. But when/if he ever gets a Cup ride, it'll be a real hoot! If you "Newbies," want to see what NASCAR racing used to be kind of like (where guy who weren't nationally famous drove to win, not merely to collect points), I suggest you catch the truck racing. You'll see some driver who aren't afflicted with teenage acne, who aren't polished sponsor shills and professional interviewees, and who don't go into cardiac arrest if someone dares to bump their precious car. You know, racing where, when a driver tries to hold his position and keeps a faster car from passing him, it's termed "racing;" not "blocking" and "dirty driving." It's the closest thing to real stock car racing you'll find on TV.

I may miss a Cup race and I have quit watching Cup Lite altogether. But I'd give up a Scooby Snack to watch the CTS. Not as good as the local tracks but close enough for me. |

Top give an example, but the kid who does the evening NASCAR show on XM, was raving how great a race the "Expanded Paper Clip 300" Sunday was because "Of the drama over who was and who wasn't going to run out of fuel..." Maybe it's just the curmudgeon in me but I, personally, don't watch a race for "Drama." If I want drama I'll go to blockbuster and rent Citizen Caine, or pick up a tome of Shakespere...I watch racing to see racing! Watching racing for drama is like watching paint dry to appreciate colours. You get the result but I question the validity of the mode. |

| Re: CTS -Memphis Speaking of watching racing to see racing, that Hooters Pro Cup is pretty good. Saturday nightshort tracks at a higher level. I saw one of there races at Hickory Motor Speedway and it blew me away. 3 Guys fighting for the lead amid a bunch of lapped cars. It was great. |

ASA also used to good, back when we began it but Rex grew a little beyond his means, went to spec engines ans fiberglass bodies, then he sold out completely. I don't even know if ASA is still running? Anyone? |
