Dick Trickle!

'Pretty well retired' Trickle to race in home state - NASCAR - Yahoo! Sports

65-year-old Dick Trickle, one of my all-time favorites, is coming back to race the Slinger Nationals in his hometown of Slinger, Wisconsin on Tuesday night. "This'll be a test, but I'm up for it,'' Trickle told reporters, adding "I'm probably not as tough as I was... But I'm as good as I was.'' So can Mr. Trickle add another victory to his alleged 1,200 win total?

I like Trickle, i just wish he'd come to NASCAR 15 years sooner. Dick, Bob Senneker and Mike Eddy would have done very, very good in NASCAR.

As impressive as Dick's record is, he still has a way to go to match Red Farmer (One of the Alabama Gang, for you neophytes). Born 1931 or 32, ran his first race in 1946, cheated death in 1993 when he crashed in Davey Allison's helicopter, and in 2005 (age 73) finished 8th in the stock car feature at Tony Stewart's Eldora track.
