Re: Jimmy Spencer

A more direct message from Dale Earnhardt Sr, on a halibut fishing boat in Homer, Alaska in 1995, as he said to me (an I clean it up for the distaff set)..."Jimmy is a A$$ hole"...I accepted that to make reference to a particular outlet on the human anatomy...he went on to admit that anywhere within 360 degrees of Spencer was dangerous and that the only position safe while he was on the track was 1/2 a track away from him...! I felt that Dale Sr. was not entirely amorous regarding this inept member of the NASCAR family...and I really feel tha the moniker of "Mr. Excitement" was given birth as the most complimentary thing that anyone could say about this "Jabba-the-Hut" on family TV...

Should you not percieve it; I have no love for the creep. I often wondered how the France family could espouse safety and still allow Spencer on the track...

Re: Jimmy Spencer

Jimmy's not all bad. He did do this.
BRISTOL, Bristol, Tenn. -- Kurt Busch walked into the garage with his head held high Friday, turning a deaf ear to those who thought the punch in the face he got from Jimmy Spencer was long overdue. -Review Journal

Only time I cheered for Jimmy Spencer... wish he would do it again.

He at least took his car out. Thats the best he could have done staying within the law. But then again, punching a guy in the nose is not always legal.

Off hand, I can think of only one other driver I would put in Jimmy Spencer's class; Rick Wilson.

Jimmy, at least, has one in the win column. Rick Wilson couldn't even manage that, even with two well-financed teams, Morgan-McClure and Petty Enterprises.

On "The Tanner Scale," Rick Wilson ranks even lower than The Brothers Waltrip. I hear that he's still tearing up good cars on the local circuits in South Florida.

Kevin Lepage is a hometown boy for me and he tears them up and also has ZERO cup victories. There has got to be a deserving Busch series driver that could do better. Real waste of good equipment. Kevin has also driven for some good owners. I believe he also drove for Morgan-McClure and Rousch.

He drove for Roush, the year after Johnny Benson left, I think.

To the best of my knowledge, he never drove for M-M. He may have done a one-up, but not a regular ride.

But, you're right. Kevin is a good driver. I followed him since he drove the Vermont Teddy Bear Ford in what was then the authentic BGN Series.

He didn't do a complete season with M-M but did drive the #4 Kodak Chevrolet for a good bit of the '01 or '02

Gawd! I really hate getting old and developing Oldtimer's Disease! Talk about "Teflon Brain!"

I really blew it on Kevin and I bow to your knowledge of Kevin. He drove part time for Morgan McClure in three seasons! Twenty-some races in '01 when Robby Gordon left, a few in 03 after P.J. Jones and again in '04 after Bobby Hamilton.

I'm really going to have to think about what I write before clicking the "Submit Reply" button. Thanks for putting me straight.

I thought Mike Skinner was mixed in there somewhere. We are talking about the 4?
