Shane Hmiel

On MRN's coverage of the Cup Lite race Friday (stand by for a diatribe on MRN in a soon-to-be-finished thread) Shane Hmiel's name was brought up.
It was reported (I haven't verified this so treat it as rumor) that Ol' Shane was being given another year off to purify himself before NASCAR would consider his being reinstated. He was getting experience running USAC Silver Crown Series, but USAC hit him with a surprise whiz quiz and the little dolt popped positive <AGAIN>!

NASACAR has now, unequivacably, banned him from all NASCAR-sanctioned competition, for life.

Tell us, Shane. How's it feel to be a complete loser and dumb ass?

I really wonder how a father with the personality, integrity and intelligence of Steve Hmiel, could have a son with zero responsibility, the emotional maturity of a box of puppies and the personality of a zucchini?

Re: Shane Hmiel

I thought they banned him for life the last time! Maybe this is it. For another year or so.

Welcome joshfields78, glad you found us!!!! We have a great time here, sometimes it gets real crazy, hope you're ready to join in the fun!! Did you see that we have a race prediction thread every week? Pop over and add your picks for the USGSheetrock 400, you could win a "big" prize!! As far as Shane goes: I guess some people never learn!!!!

I have to believe that Steve feels terrible that his son is a drug addict. As for how could that happen ???? I'm going to look at it from the other side of the fence. Until someone tells me I'm wrong then I want to believe that Shane's family did all they could to stop him from using drugs and hopefully they will stand behind him in any effort he makes to clean up his life. I have a sister who is a good mother, a religious person, hard worker, devoted wife and grandmother but she still has had her share of trouble with kids and drugs. She has stood behind them at every step and even though recovery is a long way away she is still there for that child. Sadly who we are doesn't always relate to who they are.

Re: Shane Hmiel

Drug addiction is one thing...social recreational use is different. However the test is the same ..a positive is a positive result.

Recreational drug use is a choice....and I consider those people ...you made your bed you lie in it.....shows where your priorities are. Stupid is as stupid does.....

Drug addiction is a disease. That is for another thread....no...another website entirely.

Sorry to be techincal...but I have multiple addictions in my family. I can sympathize with all the Shane Himiel's out there if it is indeed an addiction.

Tim Richmond ????

Like TN_Gal I have family that has the addiction problem and it is sad to see them try but fail on a seemingly constant basis. I wish I knew how to help. I guess the best anyone can do is offer support and just be there when needed. Hopefully Steve Hmeil is doing just that.
