how do they come up with the line up.

has in how races. I mean I understand champions, tony ,matt, truex, mustgrave, but ryan newman hasn't a championship in busch, trucks, or cup....as well as mark martain.

I root for Musgrave in IROC. He was one of my favorites in the 90s, but it never really worked out for him.

I agree, and why are 5 of the 12 participants Cup drivers while other series only have one entrant??? Also, why do they only run on large ovals? They used to run on road courses years ago. I say make it interesting, and put them in World Rally cars and have them race Daytona, Bristol, Infineon, Baja, Eldora, and throw in a drag strip for good measure.

edit: I see they are running on the Daytona road course tonight...........so at least they are doing SOMETHING other than the big ovals!

Tony won the IROC. Was a fun race this evening. I was surprised since I'm not fond of road tracks.Lots of action.
Hope you got to see the race LSC, and sure hope you enjoyed watching.

He continues to show that he is one of the very best pure drivers in the world. The guy is amazing. He went from 11th to 1st in two laps, and never looked back, even with several professional roadracers behind him.
I would LOVE to see Tony strap his butt in an F1 car someday.

That is why I stated that time would show he is one of the greatest driver of this era. He can drive anything. I don't know enought about open wheel, but I do know he has driven Indy car. So what is the difference between the two?

Well....looks like Stewart ruled the IROC....he stayed out front the entire race except 3 laps and stayed safe......one more race come Atlanta

He was the IRL champ before he came to Nascar. Being open wheel, F1 cars appear to be somewhat similar to CART and IRL (Indy) cars, but are much more technologically advanced. Also MUCH faster! The problem with that series, is it is a class with the haves and the have nots. Only a very small handful of cars are capable of running up front. Talk about a sport that takes money! I have heard each team spends $1Million just on their tire bill each year!
