Check it out guys and gals. Ol Ward is talking to some teams. It would be good to get him back out on the track. I might even keep on watching after DJ retires. Sound off everyone.

He is one of the drivers that I do not dislike. He always seemed to be a realtively clean driver who didn't carry on and on after an accident. I never quite understood why he was left out of cup racing when there are so many other underqualified drivers. My only complaint about Ward is that only he and Larry (Bigmouth) Mac can communicate and understand one another. I always picture him as living in the mountains somewhere on a dirt road with 6 broken down old wrecks in the yard and the two room house is sitting on wooden pillars. Just cain't get that picture out of my mind.

I think he took some time off to think on some things. He was just waiting for the right time.

Quality, I hate to disappoint you but that rumor has been circulating for a while now. Jayski had it on a month or 2 ago. I would love to see Ward back though. Grumble Toyota Grumble.

I fear that Wahrd may be a victim of the "Youth Movement" I whine so much about.
IF I had to bet, I'd say that Wahrd left Bill Davis Racing when MOPAR pulled their support after BDR was found producing and testing Toyotas. I think, being a recent Daytona 500 winner, Wahrd thought his stock was pretty high and he'd be able to have is pick of multiple teams when he decided to come back and his phone would be ringing off the hook with offers. Never happened.
Now he wants to come back out of the cold but no sponsor wants a REALLY southern-sounding, middle aged guy to push their product.
I believe we'll see Wahrd getting some kind of offer from Yates, but if that doesn't happen, I believe he'll be somewhere in CTS and he'll probably do well, but eventually languish there.
It'll be a shame IF it goes down that way. Wahrd is a Hell of a driver and a genuinely nice guy, from what I can ascertain.

He's been talking with some well established teams. We know the 88 and 42 are soon to be vacated. The two Ganasi rookies are asking for a veteran. In my book that means they are wanting leadership, and or someone to learn from. Yates is looking for someone good. You all might be surprised. Then again... so might I

I hope to see ward back too, I hope it's not in the 42 though. that is a high profile ride that just doesn't run well. the 88 on the other hand, with cat on the car. cat needs a good o'l boy that the people who actually use thier stuff can relate too.

I just read on Jayski that he has heard thru an "anonomous" source that Ward is going to Yates, it's a done deal! He's going to be at Daytona tomorrow for some kind of celebration. Yahoo! I hope I hope I hope this is true.

His voice, he has a real accent. Someone on here said he sounds like "I want to dwive the twuck". And he does, he really sounds like that. Come on, Ward, make an announcement this weekend what you'll be driving! So I can be color coordinated with your car.
