Since the silly season has started, might be fun to keep them all in one place. This one from Jayski's UPS to the #9? UPDATE 2: hearing UPS will leave the #88 Robert Yates Racing team and go to the #9 Evernham Dodge with driver Kasey Kahne.(6-8-2006) UPDATE: On the sponsor front, sources in the garage indicate that UPS will be moving from #88 Robert Yates Racing to one of two teams in 2007, either the #9 Evernham Motorsports Dodge driven by Kasey Kahne or the #16 Roush Racing Ford driven by Greg Biffle.(Speed Channel)(6-10-2006) UPDATE 2: It appears UPS is still in play as a major sponsor. In the past two years the winner in the sponsor hunt has been Evernham Motorsports. UPS may add itself to the list of Evernham conquests signing as the primary sponsor of the #9 Dodge driven by Kasey Kahne. Then again, it is said the Dodge Dealers aren't willing to vacate their position on Kahne's ride. The dealers might be willing to let loose of the #19 driven by Jeremy Mayfield. However, it’s not clear Mayfield would be the driver of choice for UPS.(Circletrackplus.com)(6-11-2006) Now how is red going to go brown

Re: Silly Season Thread With the way Jeff Burton is running right now he can have any sponsor he wants probably. He will be the #1 driver for RCR. I'll bet that is why Harvick re-signed so fast.

Re: Silly Season Thread jeff was dales hand picked replacement, but was still under contract when the untimely happened. I really like jeff, I think he will win this year. RCR still has another step or two to take but they are headed in the right direction.

Re: Silly Season Thread In reading through the Jayski rumors I noticed that Knaus could possibly leave Hendricks after the 07 season. That ought to make a lot of anti Jimmie fans happy. Look what happened to Gordon after Evernham left !!!

I know these theories could be applied to any of the top 10 but since he has run strong with Knaus it still would be interesting to see the number of DNF's he had versus the champion of any given year. Way to many variables. I suppose without the championship to his credit the move for Knaus would be an easier decision to make. Possibly a larger paycheck would make it easier also !

| Re: Silly Season Thread THIS JUST IN ON NASCAR.COM: Mears to drive the 25 car. I'm upset. Now I'm going to have to change my user name. Edit: It starts in 2007 and his contract goes thru 2009. Casey, I understand why you want to drive for Hendrick but please stay nice.

Re: Silly Season Thread So I need some explainations from some of you here. Do you like the driver, the team or the owner or maybe even a combination of all of them ? If you like Mears can't you be content with him no matter where he is or do you like him but not the owner ? Don't get me wrong I can see all sides of the discussion because I do like DJ as a driver, I like Yates as a Team and Yates as an owner. Now my allegiance to DJ is somewhat diminished because he is defecting to Toyota. Had he gone to another team with AMERICAN cars I think I could still cheer him on because I like him. I think overall Mears is making a good move for his career. I guess maybe I don't dislike Hendricks (not Jeff or JJ) as much as some.
