Bill Elliott to drive three races for Toyota this season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Bill Elliott will run three races this season for Red Bull Racing as a warmup for its 2007 debut as one of Toyota's initial teams.

Elliott, NASCAR's 1988 champion, will attempt to qualify for races in Concord, N.C., Atlanta and Texas. The car make he'll drive has not been decided, but it won't be a Camry because the model has not been approved for 2006 competition.

So, what are your thoughts on Bill Elliott joining Red Bull Racing and driving a Toyota at three events this year?

I can't wait to see how the Toyota engine preforms, to bad they must use another brands body. I realize that the Camry was made for next years "templates", so they can't use the total package, but at least it will give them "engine feedback." Now, is Bill staying with Toyota and Red Bull to actually be running for them next year?

Yes, the article I read goes on to say that they're trying to recruit him to run a full season in 2007, too.

I haven't heard of this so I will just give my speculation on it.

they will drive a dodge this yaer:

why:
1) bill last drove a dodge, andmay still be under a contract to only run a dodge product.
2) BDR is a dodge team that will also go toyota next year as well as MWR.


also I don't think the rules will allow them to run a different motor other than the car make ei GM in a GM,Ford in a Ford, Dodge in a Dodge.
and Toyota in a Toyota.

I believe it will be a bowtie.... here's my reasoning. Elliot was test driving Chevy's with Yota engines in them for Mr. Waltrip. And Mr. Waltrip already said he would be switching to Chevy's later this year.
