88-its ok! Your entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine as well. We all pick on each other! Not everyone likes the same drivers or shares your opinion as well. I know I piss people off at times and they don't share my opinions as well. When I first got on this forum-not everybody agreed with me but I valued everyones opinion and I consider everyone on this forum my friends as well-so 88 don't get mad if people give their opinions to you and you don't like them. Don't take anything personal on here 88!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Toyota has ZERO history in Cup racing. These teams will be nothing more than research and development.

I don't hate any of them for going to Toyota, but I do hate the fact that Toyota is invading the great American racing scene. I look at it as a series that should be dedicated to the American cars. I know that the stock car is no longer a stock car and is nothing at all like what we drive on the highways but that is yet another discussion.

Again I'm not upset, although it may appear that way but I'm just plain old unhappy about this. At this point none of the teams I care for are going to Toyota so that allows me to be a little more ruffled in the feathers.

Smoke ... send me two pills please .............
Let's face one thing though when it comes to Toyota, the "American car" arguement doesn't hold water folks! Chevy's, Ford's and Dodge's are more foreign now than Toyota! It's perfectly natural for people to resist change but it is something that you cannot stop. The "Roush Rant" as I call it, is nothing more than a whiney millionaire! This is the arguement by Jack Roush that Toyota will ruin the "parity" in the sport and basically that he is pissed because he knows that Toyota will force the manufacturers to step up their game. I think that Toyota coming in will be great for the sport and eventually the fans will come around. No one seemed too upset when Dodge got bailed out by Mercedez (Germany) and then joined Nascar.
Regardless of whether or not you are for it or against it ask yourself one thing when reading this, who is mainly responsible for Toyota being as successful as they are?

Welcome to the forum, EXCELR8, glad you found us. There's not much happiness of the Toy subject with most of the posters here. It seems that Nevadastars and I are the only ones to not have a problem with Toy joining the fun, at least until now! We have alot of fun here, sometimes it's crazy and other times it gets really crazy, but that's the beauty of it. Hope to hear alot more from you!!!

Hi EXCELR8, being from WV, I also have no problem with Toyota. They are putting a lot of people to work here. But like most fans here on this site change comes hard. As for Roush, just the site of him makes my skin craw.

Welcome to the forum Excel. Good point, my argument with the whole American Car thing has been manufacturers that originated from the USA, not foreign ones that have setup plants in the USA. You do make a very true and valid point though. Look forward to chatting with you.

No question as to who made Toyota a success. We the American public did it. That doesn't change how I feel. Granted I am an older Yankee who finds change difficult. It seems to me that I had read in other discussions that while Toyota may be keeping some Americans working the bulk of the profit leaves the country.
Now as for why we made the foreign autos a success ... thats easy. They make a better product. I'll step up to the plate and admit that I own two Honda CRV's. Two reasons why. Customer satisfaction for the reliability of the product and trade in value. Sadly Chevy, Ford or whoever has not made a product that can match either of those catagories. I want a good product for that $20 plus thousand I spend.
Like everyone else Toyota will grow on me ..... in time, but it'll take a while. In the meantime I'm going to compalin .. ever so softly.
