Dover's pit road

For years, there have only been 42 pit spots at this track. Why all the fuss about poor little Johnson having to share a pit stall with Wimmer? Every year, apparently somebody has had to share a stall and it's never been brought up. I'm sure every driver who has ever been in the position of sharing a stall must be feeling like Jan Brady: "Jimmie, Jimmie, Jimmie, it's always about Jimmie!"

Re: Dover's pit road

Absolutely correct Yates. While no one should have to deal with sharing a pit it only comes to light when one of the elite have to suffer with it. Who was it that had to move when another pit became available ???? Why wasn't it the 43 place driver ??? Once again NASCAR at its finest.

Re: Dover's pit road

Until yesterday, I've never heard of teams having to share a pit stall.

What tracks, other than Dover and Watkins Glen do they have to share pit stalls? Is Dover and Watkins Glen the only 2?

LOL, I''m with you, TeamYates!! The 4 team got a ton of TV time though! That really irritated me though when they ran out of gas waiting for the 48 to pit. That really sucked for them.

Re: Dover's pit road

so who got the pit pick first the #4 or the #48 ???

I think who ever got the pick first should have pitted first, and then have choice to more or stay with thier pit.

and what was with mark martin, he had a herendus time getting to his pit sunday.

dover is supposed to start a 5 million dollar up grade, including pit lane and a new garage for the cup cars,.

Re: Dover's pit road

They said whoever was ahead on the track when a caution came out is who gets to pit first.

Re: Dover's pit road

Iwonder why if the 4 was spiting out out of gas why he didn't just stop ahead of pit road and pull in when the #48 was done,

I never heard of sharing pits either up until this past weekend! They should never have to share a pit stall-to confusing!

Re: Dover's pit road

I know Richmond used to have to share, and I think Bristol.

I actaully never realized Dover had to share

Not to mention the added pressure to the pit crews. I believe the #48 crew was also having to pit the #4.
