Cool Our All State 400 Predictions @ The Brickyard

As we prepare to leave behind our Saturday night racing for awhile, we head to the famed yard of bricks at Indy for the All State 400 scheduled to run July 27th.
Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday, July 26 @ 10:10 am

A bit of history:
Built in 1909 as an automobile proving ground, the speedway was built as a 2.5-mile rectangle by its four founders because that was the largest track that could be constructed on the land available.
The first event was a hot-air balloon race, followed by three days of racing in August 1909. However, the crushed stone and tar track was so dangerous that work began immediately on repaving the entire surface with more than three million bricks.

Nascar has been coming to the brickyard since 1994. Here is the list of all previous winners:

1994: Jeff Gordon
1995: Dale Earnhardt
1996: Dale Jarrett
1997: Ricky Rudd
1998: Jeff Gordon
1999: Dale Jarrett
2000: Bobby Labonte
2001: Jeff Gordon
2002: Bill Elliott
2003: Kevin Harvick
2004: Jeff Gordon
2005: Tony Stewart
2006: Jimmie Johnson
2007: Tony Stewart

Who do you think will be kissing the bricks this year? Will it be one of our previous winners or will we see a new name added to the Borg Warner trophy? Give us your picks for 1st and 2nd place.

If you get 1st and 2nd place you'll get a permanent upgrade of your member title.

If you get just the 1st place driver you'll get a one month upgrade of your member title.

If you get just the 2nd place driver you get an honorable mention in the predictions thread.

The guesses must be made prior to qualifying to win.
You may still post predictions up to the start of the race.

Correct guesses after that will get honorable mention only.

To claim your prize you need only to PM Team YATES or Lefty Noob.

Good Guessing & Good Luck

Jimmie seems to be pretty confident he can hang with the 18 and his Gibbs partners after the last race, so how about this:

1. Jimmie Johnson
2. Denny Hamlin

Re: Our All State 400 @ The Brickyard

I have to say:

1 - Tony Stewart - Tony's mind will be clearer as the contracts have been signed and he can now concentrate on racing
2 - Kyle Busch - Kyle will fight Tony to the end but will have to take a very close second in a side-by-side finish
3 - Ryan Newman - I think he and Tony are going to practice being team mates during the race. Newman will push Tony to the win, a gesture of good faith.
...
43 - joonyor - blown engine on the second lap...

i would like to say that the raceing sucks today, all of the exceitement is gone. i am glade for all the safty percations that nascar takes, but these saturday nite rases are getting out of hand. i miss the old race back to the line, and i really hate the lucky dog. it has no place in a real race. hatman
