Montoya vs. Busch discussion....

What do you guys think about the incident that just occurred under caution? Did Montoya send Busch a message? Do you like what he did or was it completely classless? Despite the name I'm not much of a JPM fan but I must say that he probably just sent a loud message to KB and the rest of the drivers that he won't put up with any thing he perceives to be BS. He's probably going to get some flack and punishment from NASCAR over it but in the end it may help him in the future. At the same time it could hurt him badly. If Kyle holds a grudge, and given his history I think we know he will, then JPM will have to worry about getting put in the wall every time he's within 10 feet of Busch. It was pretty funny though. I can't wait to hear both of their takes on it.

Oh I think this will hurt JPM more than it will Kyle. It'll be interesting to see what NASCAR has to say about it.

I don't care who does it to who... you don't wreck someone intentionally under caution. Totally uncalled for.

Re: Montoya vs. Busch discussion....

I suspect NASCAR will look at it the same way. Points and dollars will be paid by JPM and Ganasi Racing.

Re: Montoya vs. Busch discussion....

I agree a fine will come down and points will be taken. They almost have to. What I'm curious about is will this cause Kyle ot be more cautious around JPM or will he just try to get even?

Re: Montoya vs. Busch discussion....

NASCAR should pay JPM and KB!!
That was the only interesting thing that happened in a snoozer of a race!

Re: Montoya vs. Busch discussion....

looked to me that juan was just started ''scrubbing'' his tires, when he inadvertently tapped kyle, who obviously had his hands off the wheel, causing the 18 car to temporarily loose control. however ,once kyle regained control,he spun the car back to his left and accelerated, violently hitting juan's right rear, almost rolling him over.....kyle must answer for his action!!!

Re: Montoya vs. Busch discussion....

Being a JPM fan, I heard his post-race interview and now I suspect he might not be as smart as maybe I first thought!

When TNT's Marty what's-his-name asked him "Did you turn into him intentionally?" Referring to the incident under caution against Kyle Busch,

And he answered "Yes"

He has just successfully prosecuted his own case vs. the authorities!

NASCAR sees a copy of the tape and it's open and shut!

I caught that, Gnome. I almost lost it. I admire his honesty but I don't think I would have admitted intentionally hitting Shrub in front of Marty Snyder, God and everyone. I think that I would have found some other, more ambiguous way to answer the question.

I see a sizable penalty in Juan's future. He guilty as sin, not necessarily of nailing the Shrubster - there are legions who would give him a medal for doing that - but for stupidity in answering the question. He could have always fallen back on the 1st Amendment. and the right to remain silent.

Re: Montoya vs. Busch discussion....

JPM is in my list of favored driver, but wrecking intentionally is a nono....

Not to JPM: do it like a man like you did it with Havick... mano-a-mano

"Hello, My Name is Juan Pablo Montoya, you wrecked my NASCAR, prepare to die"....

That would have been awesome if he had said that!

On a more serious note, Juan should be fined. That was stupid, don't care who you are.

I won't comment on those people. To me he had no reason to turn Kyle around like that at all. If he wanted to return the rub, then fine, rub him and move on, but do not turn him around. The fact that he did it under caution makes it worse. If he wanted to make a statement wait til the green flag waved and roughed him up a little.
