Top 10

I came across this bit of trivia while I was perusing Jayski this morning. I had to sort it to get the following ranking (Jayski has it sorted in the "normal" way: by total wins.) I think it gives a different perspective on why some of these guys are perpetually "up front". (this list is active drivers only.)

Rank Name Wins/Starts Percentage
  1. Jeff Gordon 81/525 15.43%
  2. Jimmy Johnson 34/235 14/47%
  3. Tony Stewart 32/336 9.52%
  4. Carl Edwards 10/137 7.30%
  5. Kyle Busch 9/130 6.92%
  6. Kurt Busch 17/272 6.25%
  7. Greg Biffle 12/202 5.94%
  8. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 18/307 5.86%
  9. Kasey Kahne 9/160 5.63%
  10. Bill Elliott 44/753 5.62%
Blue have won in 2008, Red is the most recent winner.

Surprisingly (or maybe not), there's no one on the entire list at Jayski who's most recent win/best finish is at New Hampshire.

He's retired but how about David Pearson 105/574 18.29%?

Re: Top 10

So this year Kyle is at 31.25%?

So at the end of last season... subrtracting 5 wins and 16 races... Kyle was at 4/114... 3.5%.

So in a sixteen race span, Kyle has roughly doubled his career win percentage. Good going, Kyle.

you could say the same thing about Jeffie and Jimmie and all the drivers on the list.

as an example, might I direct you to the post immediately preceding yours (and copied below)?
