| Smoke Searching For Sponsors. According to ESPN and Jayski's Tony to Haas/CNC is all but a done deal. The only thing left to iron out is if it'll be next year or in 2010. Tony is currently looking for sponsors for his new team with Office Depot and Old Spice the leading candidiates. Martin Truex Jr. and Ryan Newman are the leading driver candidates to join Tony. I'm very happy about all of this. I'm glad Tony is leaving JGR and their sorry Toyota loving butts. Good to see he wants to get back in a Chevy. Should be interesting with the Hendrick supplied engines and Chassis' as well. Somewhere boardmember and Mod Phils20 is smiling about this as well. Especially if Martin Truex becomes Smoke's teammate. Here's the link: Jayski'sŪ Silly Season Site - Sprint Cup News Page Scroll down the page and you'll see it's the first news item. What do you think about all this?

As the "brand sticker" on a car has no bearing on what's underneath. Stewart will do and go with anyone that will help his team win and succeed, I wouldn't put to much faith in loyalty to a Corporation. |

| Re: Smoke Searching For Sponsors. Smoke could pick up either US Army or UPS and Newman could get Bass pro Shops. He already has them on this WoO car. Any of those would be a natural fit. "But, Bass pro Shops has a contract with DEI!!!???" This is the 21st Century, where business agreements and contracts are only as good as the character of the persons signing them. NEW FLASH! There is none!

just ask Rick Hendricks about the value of contracts |

| Re: Smoke Searching For Sponsors. I would have to assume that character would be involved in his dealings and the man has none, IMNSVHO. |

I know contracts get broken all the time but it seems with this guy there is a pattern. I don't know the man but the way I see it, the paper that he signs with a driver is worth about as much as the paper he uses to wipe his presidental pardoned butt! |

| Re: Smoke Searching For Sponsors. I have to agree with Grim. The fact that it is just a decal is beside the point. The company behind the decal is VERY good to his teams, and that speaks volumes. I'd be surprised if he isn't in a Chevy stickered vehicle next year! Very surprised! Of course, it would also make me happy as hell to see it!
