Infineon Commercials VS Race time

Here is a break down of the commercial versus actual race viewing time for the Infineon race.

Start time to record race/commercial periods: 5:00 PM
End time to record race/commercial periods: 8:31 PM
Total minutes: 211
Minutes of race broadcast: 157
Minutes of commercials: 54
Number of missed restarts: 0
Number of mystery cautions (no debris shown): 0

Next is last years numbers.

Start time to record race/commercial periods 05/05/07: 5:00 PM
End time to record race/commercial periods 05/05/07: 8:18 PM
Total minutes: 198
Minutes of race broadcast: 144
Minutes of commercials: 54

13 less minutes of race time in 2007 but still the same amount of commercials

Well, just goes to show you, perception isn't reality.
25% commercials may seem like a lot, but your average half hour show is 22 minutes, with 8 minutes of commercial.

Seemed like the commercials were a lot longer than that.

We had the 'Race Buddy' thing going and found it added to the race to be able to see more than just Kyle Busch once he got out into the lead. And it was something to watch when the commercials were on. I may not be as fond of TNT's broadcasting, but that helped soften the irritation factor.

Did anyone but me become really tired of the McDonalds commercial, with the kids floundering around like they had just got their most private parts stuck in an electric socket?

I haven't calculated them but I think they are doing 2 minutes instead of 3 minutes break so it looks like there is 50% more break.
