I know, Wampinrock, it looks so out of place and ridiculous with all those race cars. Wonder why they didn't use a Camry, a least it wouldn't look like a dwarf out there. I hate that body style (Camry), sorry Toyo lovers. It's just plain ugly. So's the pace car that they used.

They did use a Camry, it's the 2007 model, the only reason it was "ugly" was because of the "rack of lights" on top.

Re: Michael Waltrip

I was happy that Waltrip was out of the race on Sunday! He wasn't in a good mood either! Hopefully he read our website! LOL! He's not trying because he is moving to Toyota. I believe anyway! He's a traitor! LOL!

It looked smaller than the Camries you see now, did they go to a smaller body style in '07?

Here are some specs:
2006 Camry
Height: 58.7in
Width: 70.7in
Lenght:189.2in
Wheelbase:107.1in

2007 Camry
Height: 57.9in
Width: 71.7in
Lenght: 189.2in
Wheelbase:109.3in

It seems that they are basically the same, a little less height and width with the wheelbase moved out a little.

Re: Michael Waltrip

well, I think the waltrips have really added to nascar in the past, they are a bit annoying now. mikey is a sponsors dream, with his ablitity to be the butt of a joke. and as far as toyota is concearned. if anyone here was out of a ride and toyota gave you a deal not only too drive a car but to own 2 teams, you'd be on it like flies on ......well you know what.

I bet the deal mikey has with toyota is over 100 million in multi year terms.

every one always complains about drivers being so P/C , then you complain about someone like mikey that really livens up the sport.
would you rather listen to chris acconnomacky tell you about ernie earnhardt and darrell walters.

ok. off my soap box.........flame onn

I believe it just looked weird because of that big rack of lights. If you think about all the other pace cars, the lights on top look like they belong, they didn't even come close to looking like they belonged there. Do you think the lights looked out of proportion? I hope they fix that, it makes the car look bad. If they used a Prius, it would look like a remote control car out there on the track!!

As for Mikey livening things up ... that is all scripted material. Left to his own abilities he is a 36th place (at best) driver who resorts to purchasing a ride and still can't get around the track. Both he and Toyota will soon see that however much money it is that is being spent will be a large waste. Had it not been for DEI, Waltrip would have never won a race.

Re: Michael Waltrip

I always used to watch Inside Winston Cup, now Nextel of course, but when Despain took over I quit watching it. But Mikey would always defend Nascar, no matter what it was. "Guys, you have to realize that Nascar does a good job policing these matters and they do what is best for the sport...they do such a good job, I love them and I would do anything for them, even lie". Okay, I added that last part in there myself. Gets a little tiring. Just once I'd like to hear him blast Nascar for something. But that won't happen. Ever.
