Re: Michael Waltrip

I kinda doubt that Mikey gets very many points.

Re: Michael Waltrip

I guess I just never knew that a place in the race could be bought. I really don't understand the thought process behind that. Now that the top 35 in points basically have a free pass that sort of means that the last 8 places are for sale for any team that wants to buy its way in. Actualy I guess any of the positions could be sold but anyone in the top 35 would be foolish to do so.

I'm wondering now if maybe I can just buy my way into heaven so that I can raise all the h@#l I want from now until my number gets called ??

Any idea what the 43rd position cost these days ?

The positions themselves don't have a fixed amount. The entry/car cost's a certain amount of money. I think it's around 10k. I saw it once on Nascar360, Kenny Wallace bought a ride in the Busch series to get Stacker in the race.

Re: Michael Waltrip

I didn't think each position carried a price tag but I was just curious what a sponsor or team would pay for that position. In particular I'm curious to know what he paid to keep the steak alive, even though it isn't.

Maybe they'll have second thoughts about racing in NASCAR now. Maybe we'll all owe Mikey a debt of gratitude !!!

Actually, if it were a choice between Toyota not being in NASCAR, and a Waltrip not being ON TV whenever the NASCAR logo was shown, it'd be a tough choice but I'd have to go with the Rice Burner.

Oh, that's funny, Bob! I used to like to listen to Michael during the truck races but he's getting annoying. I had a thought this morning, ya know all the races Robby Gordon missed last year? He never once bought his way in. I wonder how he feels about that. Or maybe he just couldn't afford it. Someone said that Kenny Wallace did that, bought his way into a ride in the Busch series. But he had an awesome car that might have won the pole, and I think (not sure on this) that he might have been top 10 in points.

Thank God it is just his mind.

Watching the Busch race and Stewart has just smashed the wall in a large way.

Hi LSC, me too. Man, I can't believe the replays on that. He pounded it. Did you see the way the left rear tire looked when it was up in the air? Man, hope he's okay for tomorrow. Looked like he felt that hit.
