Jeff Burton, appearing on Fox Sports Radio, asked his thoughts on the need for NASCAR to have stricter drug testing: "I think that if we're gonna make a mistake, let's make a mistake because we're testing too much, not 'cause we're not testing enough and, I mean, it's just that simple. We owe it to our fans. We owe it to our sponsors. We owe it to our competitors. We owe it to everybody to know that this is a clean sport. What's the harm in that? You know, if somebody that won't agree to the principle that it's best for our sport to be drug-free, than they just need to do something else. I have been horrified in the past at how baseball, basketball, in particular, their drug policies have been atrocious. I mean, you could get caught smoking dope and they didn't do anything to you the first time. The second time they give you a little slap on the wrist. I mean, come on! Give me a break! Our fans deserve more than that and our sport deserves more than that and you are - you're going 200 miles an hour. You deserve to know the guy next to you is clean."
