Re: scanner / headset info and advice

Ellison, I would recommend at least a 200 channel unit that will support 2 headsets. You’ll only need a “shorty” antenna at the race track. I long antenna will get in your way. I use a “leg strap” to secure my radio to my leg. During the stand-up sit-down exercise to watch the race, the leg strap will come in handy. You’ll need a splitter and cables to allow both headsets to be connected. I also recommend headsets with a stabilizer bar, head strap, and gel-filled ear cushions. The gel-filled cushions give added comfort during the long races.

I purchased my scanner and headsets from Racing Electronics who provide a quick response. They also have updated frequencies at their trailer at all NASCAR tracks.
