| Uh-Oh... All Toyo Haters - Must Read! All-Star notes... Stewart blows an engine in practice... and is forced to the back of the line at the start of the race... Shrub runs away from everyone then... BLOWS UP! Hamlin runs strong, takes the lead, then BLOWS UP! All three Gibbs cars had engine problems tonight folks... maybe those Toyota engines aren't what they're cut up to be??? Oh, no... or... Maybe... they were just "testing" stuff? If I'm a Gibbs fan though, I'm definitely concerned! Or should I be? After all none of what happened matters to the grand scheme of things...

My guess is that Gibbs tried something new in the All Star engines and it will be changed next week, when points are on the line. I totally agree with your last sentence.

| Re: Uh-Oh... All Toyo Haters - Must Read! Possib/Probab - ilities Fair chance engines were put together on the looser side of tolerances. Not unlike when once upon a time teams had and used "qualifying engines". Makes 'em a bit more ready to spin up quicker. Might be cause/reason that the Shrubber looked "out of a cannon" in a race against snails. Can be good news when all items (engines in this case) display/respond in similar or same manner. Provides fairly decent testimony around the goodness/badness of the choice. Don't recall that any of the other Toyos grenaded. |

| Re: Uh-Oh... All Toyo Haters - Must Read! The news out of the Gibbs garage about the two failed engines was the rocker arms failed in both. The other news is these engines were assembled and built in-house, by JGR, and were NOT taken from TRD. Smoke went from a JGR motor to a TRD motor for the race and did just fine. Word is, the Gibbs team will race TRD engines in the upcoming 600 this weekend but at some point, they will quite likely make the switch to in-house motors. Like Bob Tanner alluded to in his post about using the All-Star race as a testing session, the Gibbs team went into this race knowing full well that using their own engines could result in problems and sure enough, they became painfully evident. Aside from blown engines though, no points means no harm, no foul! |

| Re: Uh-Oh... All Toyo Haters - Must Read! Teressa Earnhardt had em rigged with a kill switch. She had the kill switches extensively tested last year on JR. Word on the street is she has a mole planted over at Gibbs and at the Toyota Racing in the engine division. I have a friend who has a friend who's uncle knows somebody who got the inside scoop on all of this.
