| A Lesson About Having Faith I admit that I was one of little faith. When the season started I have little or no faith in Doug Yates' ability to run a functioning Cup team. I was horribly mistaken! Even with what some would call second-tier drivers and a lack of consistent sponsorship, plus a recent history of mediocrity, the Yates team is solidly in mid pack with both cars. They are safely in The Chosen and both have had consistent runs with a few finishes in the top ten. I am impressed. It's too bad they are lacking sponsorship but if they continue as they have been, I don't think next season will be a problem. Good job, Yates Racing!

| Re: A Lesson About Having Faith NASCAR without RYR, for us feels like "not NASCAR" (yeah I know, if I'm gonna be "with it" I gotta drop the first "R"). Opinion/observation follows - may be frought with error and misleading crap They may have overspent (time/$) in/on some "over the hill" and/or "don't even know there are hills" pilots. Young guns willing to run on the edge with the changing times (equipment, venues, etc.), may have been what was needed. It increasingly appears to be questionable as to whether the full knowledge of those of the last generation of racer is completely transferable to, for an example, the present physical platform. Not just at Yates. TK feels more solid than DG at this point. Sponsorship It simply ain't as "available" as once was, and it is possible it will become less available in the near term. At least not the ones that can play at the "primary" level necessary to support a team for a season. Proof's in the watchin'. Not sure there is any car that sports the same primary every race of the season. A definite change from the past, and the not so distant past at that. If RYR continues to hold and/or improve their race day quality (Not to be confused with the "where did they finish" question of the less knowledgeable), good sponsorship eyes will notice. They've lost some decent ones and it feels likely these will not return in the near future. Gonna have to lure a/some good one(s) away from another.
