fantasy nascar talk

going forward ... who would you rather have ...

(making the chase doesn't matter, nor does previous results, just from here to Homestead)

1) Matt Kenseth
2) Greg Biffle
3) Montoya
4) Ku. Busch
5) Truex Jr.

Rank them if you like ...

Thanks.

Biffle's definitely hot in recent weeks, so he'd be #1. Then Truex.
The other three are a toss up, though JPM seems the streakiest of the bunch (and the most likely to get you a win?).

Re: fantasy nascar talk

hmmm, interesting ... i would think despite recent problems, Kenseth would be most productive from here on out.

I'd think he's the most likely to give you consistant Top 10, Top 15 finishes, but I don't expect to see him at the front of the pack too often.

Re: fantasy nascar talk

i have a bunch of cold drivers ...

stewart
ku busch
montoya

thinking of trading stewart and/or montoya since i wont get anything back for kurt ... will smoke's value keep declining since he seems to be on his way out and more concerned with finding a new team? will ganassi let montoya keep a crew chief? will biffle keep running up front?

rather have going forward?: biffle or stewart?
rather have going forward?: montoya or ragan?

opinions much appreciated ... thanks

Biff and Ragan, hands down. DR has been consistient all year and all The Biff needs is some good ole' luck and he'll put up points.

got to agree with The Dude .. Biff and David would be my choices. Juablo isn't happy right now .. Ganassi is turning everything upside down looking for a solution to his team's lackluster performance. Tony seems to have everything except a snake bite kit. It could turn around anytime .. or not.

we all should know this by now....stewart doesnt win many races in spring. we are a week into summer and you can bet he will be contending for a win here or there coming up

yes, true, we are all familiar with that trend ... however, how many times has smoke been on his way out and off to another team? that's the part that has me a little concerned about future results. might be nothing to it, but then again ...

Re: fantasy nascar talk

Stewart will start turning it on real quick and he is going to give you a better shot at a win then Biffle IMO. I mean he has had some bad luck, cost him the win last week and if you trade him now it would be at his lowest value level and would more then likely not get proper value in return. As far as JPM vs Ragan, if you want consistency then I would go with Ragan, but JPM is more likely to get you the win. Personally I would hold onto Stewart and trade for Ragan.

Re: fantasy nascar talk

I got to thinking about the timing of Tony's wins and did some digging. Here's some stats on the timing of Tony's wins:
  • Earliest 1st win in a season: 2003, race #4
  • Latest 1st win in a season: 1999, race #25
  • Earliest last win in a season: 2003, race #11
  • Latest last win in a season: 2006, race #34
  • Most wins in a season: 2000, 6 wins
  • Least wins in a season: 2003 & 2004, 2 wins
  • Most condensed winning season: 2004, 5 wins in 7 consecutive races (#16, 17, 19, 21, 22) and 2007 3 wins in 4 consecutive races (A#19, 20, 22)
  • Most spread out winning season: 2006, 5 wins in 28 races (#6, 17, 29, 33, 34) followed by 2004, 2 wins in 17 consecutive races (#14, 31)
  • Breaking the season in to thirds: he as 3 wins in the 1st 12 races, 14 in the 2nd 12 races and 9 in the last 12 races.
  • Looking at which races produce the most wins across all 9 seasons, there seems to be 2 "groups": races #15-22 have produced 11 wins while races #31-34 have produced 6 wins with race #33 producing the most wins (3)
  • And there are 10 races in his "win" area that have produced no wins (#5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 23, 26 and 30)
Dunno if any of this helps, but indication is he's moving into the winningest section of his season, so chances are high he'll get a win in the next 11 races.
