| What teams died this week? Are they gone for good? According to the link below, only 45 teams registered this week. This down from well over 50 at the start of the year. At least nobody gets sent home this week, though. Oddly enough, Fox still has several drivers starred as "Must Qualify on Speed," though obviously they're all guarunteed to make it in the race. So, if anyone knows, what teams died a little this week? FOX Sports on MSN - NASCAR -

| Re: What teams died this week? Are they gone for good? Don't feel bad. I almost agreed and said how nice it was that noone would have to go home. |

BAM is all but gone. This will be the last year Bill Davis is a regular in Cup. Next season he'll devote all his efforts to CTS. Petty'll be good, even if the deal with Medallion falls through. I don't think NA__AR'll let them fail completely. It's getting very close to NA__AR/ISC's magic number for changing ownership into a franchise deal. Very, very bad for the sport and for the race fans (but really GREAT for the team owners!).

| Re: What teams died this week? Are they gone for good? I think in just a few years they'll be just a handful of owners. DEI, RCR, HMS,Roush, Petty,Waltrip,Gibbs and Everham will be it. And I believe Everham and Waltrip will be within the ownership of one of the other teams. I know Nascar is implementing the 4 team rule. But as is already proven owners can and will get around that rule with no problem. Yates will be ok cause Roush is gonna take them. But all your smaller teams will be gone. With, I believe, the exception of Robby Gordon. I think he's just to hard headed and stubborn to let someone take his team.

I hate to break the news to you but Evernham no longer owns his race team. Gillette took majority control of the thing when he bought in. Ray has been demoted to organizer, cheerleader and just general all-around good guy. |

| Re: What teams died this week? Are they gone for good? In my vision, I think it will be 11 4 cars teams. HMS 4 cars, RCR Will be at four next year. Rousch 5 will go down to 4 Penske 3 cars and rumors come and go for a fourth DEI 3 cars. GEM 3 cars + 7 which is mostly their fourth car. Gibbs 3 cars + 96 which is their satellite team Red Bull 2 cars, but I would see them adding car for Scott Speed. Waltrip 3 cars Ganassi 3 cars Robert Yates and Petty would be the 11th team. Of course, more money will mean buy out from team like Waltrip, Petty, Yates,... As for Gillett, I don't think his team are that bad, 9 team seems in better shape than last season, 19 is ok. 10 car is as bad as it was in recent season. |
