| Re: Dale Jr. going retro with No. 88 Chevy I like Kvapil's #28 Lafayette Ford much, much, much, much better. When I saw Jr.'s car I immediately remembered how dispicable I thought DW was when he drove the car. It was a flashback I could have easily have done without. |

| Re: Dale Jr. going retro with No. 88 Chevy Yep it's all my fault, shame on me.LOL. Seriously though I did use to put out some serious money for my Nascar stuff. But lately I just haven't wanted any of it. I bought one new car to sit beside his old one. Other than that nothing of his has caught my fancy. Could it be that I know by buying his stuff I'm buying HMS stuff? Could be.

I haven't seen it yet but I naturally assumed (Never assume; it makes an ass out of u and me) that it was a tribute car to the Ford Freddy Lorenzen ran in the early 60's. It was solid white with a slight metal flake mixed in, with baby blue lettering on the rear quarter panel. I don't remember him running a solid blue Ford. |

maybe I didn't type that right. The 28 is indeed a white throwback. Here is the 28 for this week! Jayski's® Silly Season Site - Team Pages - #28 What I meant to say was that I found it very much like a car the Pettys ran in 1993. That #43 car was just a plain Petty blue! |

I thought the most authentic tribute paint job tonite was the #21 Wood Brothers car. That one brought back some good memories. |

For the record Richard ended up eating the wall after he father, Lee, knocked him into it. A quote from the paper reporting the race: "This was my first Grand National," the younger Petty said. "Cotton Owens was leading Daddy. They came up behind me and I moved over to let them pass." "Cotton went by," Petty continued, "but Daddy bumped me in the rear and my car went right into the wall." I wonder if any of the fans that day threw beer cans and wanted Lee to be buried chin deep in an ant hill, ala Kyle Busch? |

Although I didn't get to see the actual race, it did look good in qualifying. |
