If you have had that many starts, you had to have done something right.

I dont mind admitting I quite like the guy and congratulate him on this impressive milestone.

Just checking ....but it was 2 Daytona wins wasnt it?

Re: Waltrip makes 700th career start

But I find it hard to get exctied about 4 wins in 700 races, all at plate tracks, with what was the best gear for that racing at the time.

Mikey is a good pitchman, and that is about it.

But hey, if folks wanted to pay him all those years to do that, I don't hold it against him, but I also don't consider him a first class driver.

I just don't!

Well... 4 wins in 700 starts. I don't think it's humanly possible to be considered a first-class driver with those kind of stats!

Re: Waltrip makes 700th career start

I'm a Mikey fan, my wife is a Reuti fan.

I pull for Mikey just cause he's an underdog. It is kind of funny seeing Reutimann finish in front of him ever week though. My wife gets a kick out of it.

I'm going to Daytona in July. I'd love to see an MWR car win there!

Re: Waltrip makes 700th career start

I like Mikey too. No he's not one of the best out there. But since he's been in so long without not having a ride, he must be doing something right.

True Vince. But, what he's doing right has very little to do with driving ability and everything to do with charisma.

There's nothing wrong with liking a driver because of his public personality. (I've heard unverified reports that the off-camera MIkey is a different kat from the on-camera one) Speaking only for myself, I just don't care for the guy. Most of that, unfortunately, is based on a long-harboured dislike for his obnoxious, loud mouthed and self-aggrandizing brother.

Unbeknownst to you Bob, you speak for myself also. Thank you.
