Will Denny be docked points?

Do you think Denny will be penalized points along with his 2 laps for stopping on the track? I know there have been other penaties handed down for such an incident, What do you guys think?

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

Well, if NASCAR has a history of docking points for this kind of incident, one would have to assume they'll dock Hamlin as well.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

There should not be any "penality" for having a flat tire and stopping on the track. It would have been dangerous for Denny to try to cross the track with cars running at full speed and him at such a slow speed. I didn't see a black flag from the flagman.

Now, as a voting member of the JR Nation, I could assume that Denny purposely stayed out on the track to cause a "caution" and allow Kyle to close the gap on a restart. Kyle is know for his aggressive nature when on the bumper of another car. But, I don't think Gibbs team mates work well together on the track.

Para 1: I agree. he can claim "Safety Issue." The only penalty I see handed out tomorrow will be Mikey (which will probably kick him out of The Chosen - I can hope anyway).

Para 2: I see here and other places people whine all the time about how team members should "work together." Then, when Hamlin uses the system to help his team mate these same devotees of "team work" want his head?

I just wish people would make up their darn minds!

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

Im sure I remember that Dale Jr. was docked 50 points about 2 or 3 years ago at Bristol for spinning out on purpose. Nascar ruled that he changed the out come of the race. I belive Denny has done the same thing because he didnt wanna make another lap & chance tearing up his car. Just My 02cent.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

Denny Hamlin stopped his car to cause a caution so that JR would lose?

I don't know what has more conspiracy theories 9/11 or Jr.
Gee the whole NASCAR organization must be out to keep JR from winning.

Remember last year, Teresa had that remote control which would cause Jr's engine to blow in the final few laps of the race?

She must be in cohoots with Denny this year. She must have had some thing rigged in Denny's tire so that after leading 384 laps he gets a flat tire, stops on the track resulting in a caution so that JR would lose and as a fail safe Kyle Busch would wreak his own car to keep JR from winning.

I can't wait to see who keeps JR from winning in Darlington this weekend. Maybe Carl Edwards will do a back flip from his car on to Jr's hood on the last lap causing him to lose.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

Just for the record, Im not a Jr. Fan. I love good strong racin & always will. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about what happen. I really dont care who wins as long as its a good race.

P.S. I will say I always liked Kasey & Carl, But have been a Rusty fan for over 20 yrs. when he was runnin for South Land & Fire here in Gonzales.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

I think Denny just wanted to save the car, but did it at the wrong time. He waited to long to stop and was past the entrance to pit road.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

If I remember right, when Jr spun himself at Bristol it was because he had a tire down, and wanted a caution. He was penalized. Denny did the same thing. So he should be penalized also.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

After what happened last week at the nationwide series in Taledega where that guy pulled up on the track and got creamed by Carl Edwards and subsequently caused a 16 car pile up, I'm thinking Denny didn't want a repeat of that so instead of going down the track in front of all those cars he stayed up and out of the way until the cars went by and he could safely exit the track.

I certainly don't think it had anything to do with jr.

Yes he was docked for it.... after he blabbed about it and told the world he did it on purpose. NA$CAR can't prove Denny did it on purpose. Flat tire issue.

I think you are right on this one 88. I think if Jr would have kept his trap shut he would have never been docked 50 points. I think he probably was docked more for admitting it then actually doing it. Along the lines of showing up Nascar.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

Thats what im sayin, He blabed about it, Denny didnt, They both did it for the same reason. So because denny didnt say anything he should'nt be punished the same way? You guys sound like you're Kyle Busch FANS! They both broke the rule & only one gets the wippen, Give me a break! I Love racin to! But rulz or rulz. If Nascar dont get this under control they will lose fans & sponsors. Pull for who you want but be honest with everyone.......................Nuff Said.

Re: Will Denny be docked points?

What do you want verified? The fact that Jr. was docked points or the fact Denny did it for the same reasons? If you watched the race we all know why Denny did it. So as not to lose 2 maybe 3 laps & finish 30th.
Im not at all sayin he did it for Busch.
