| Re: NASCAR drivers encourage teens to stop texting while driving I don't even think you should be able to talk on one while driving, let alone text. I've had so many people pull out in front of me and never even look to see if anythings coming cause they on a phone. |

| Re: NASCAR drivers encourage teens to stop texting while driving I'm looking forward to July because that is when they will finally make it a violation to be using the cell phone without a headset in CA. ABOUT TIME!!! Texting while driving? You have to be a special kind of stupid to think that is ok to do. Sheesh!

| Re: NASCAR drivers encourage teens to stop texting while driving To qualify the "Darwin" statement I made... Darwin Awards: Darwin Awards If these people keep texting while driving, they will become proud members of this "society"! |

| Re: NASCAR drivers encourage teens to stop texting while driving I am a body man by trade and see plenty of wrecks caused by idiots texting, or just yakking on their phones while driving. The most recent involved 4 vehicles. A woman was driving down the highway, probably around 50-60mph and came up on a row of cars turning into the local Naval base. She never even slowed down in her 2007 Durango and rammed a 2005 Chevy diesel pickup into a Jeep Liberty, which smacked into an S10 pickup. She was saved by her air bag, but her young son in the back seat suffered a broken arm and numerous bruises. Her Durango is a total loss with the entire front end destroyed, the Chevy truck is also totaled because it has major damage front and rear, I am working on the Jeep Liberty as it suffered surprisingly little damage considering how hard it got hit by the Chevy. Bottom line is, I don't care for some of their laws, but all states should consider making it illegal to use your hands on the phone while driving such as California did this year.

| Re: NASCAR drivers encourage teens to stop texting while driving Not to make this point any clearer but people I think just fail to realize how truly dangerous a large moving vehicle is. We live all our lives getting into and out of cars, buses and trucks that it's all taken for granted just like putting on clothes or eating food! People get into 2-ton wheeled vehicles all the time and think they are riding a bicycle or something small. I have always known my priorities when it comes to driving because trouble, just like hitting the lottery or getting struck by lightning, can occur very suddenly, have profound effects and change your life forever! That woman that Stars was talking about is counting her lucky stars that she and her son weren't killed and she didn't kill anyone but trust me, her pain is only beginning because I'm sure there will be some litigation at some point and she might end up losing a whole lot more just because of not paying attention! Sometimes, I have discovered, you get what you deserve!!! |

| Re: NASCAR drivers encourage teens to stop texting while driving Why do we need NASCAR drivers to tell kids not to text while driving? Where are the parents? Do parents not put a little healthy fear into their kid's anymore? Something like "leave the phone at home until I'm sure you're not continuing to be stupid. Seems like we all survived without a cell phone - betcha you can, too!" Just a few months ago, five young ladies died a short distance from here because their driver was texting. And kids will still think it won't happen to them.
