| Re: Rumours around the garage I feel for the smaller teams such as Wood bros./Bill Davis/Morgan M. But what should NASCAR do or what can NASCAR do about it? It's no different then anything else. Home Depot and Lowes have crushed the little hardware stores too. 40 years ago any sponsorship $$$ went to Petty enterprises and Wood Brothers because they were the top draw. Those guys capitalized and took everything they could and it made it hard for all others to compete with them. How is it any different today and why is it Nascar's responsibility to "fix" this? They just want 43 good cars.... That's thier job. |

Now, with today's NA__AR being what it is, I agree with you. It's there to organize races, promote them, make laws and make money. It IS NOT there to be the answer to a team's or a driver's problems. (kind of like what our Imperial Government SHOULD be) Sadly Petty, Wood Brothers, Front Row Racing, Bill Davis, and any single or two car team is about to be flushed down the toilet of NASCAR history unless they can find a "Sugar Daddy," such as Yates found in Roush. Sometimes "Progress" really bites the big one.

| Re: Rumours around the garage Just found these two at jayski.com: (1)Truex to Penske? with UPS? hearing that Martin Truex, current driver of the #1 DEI Chevy, could be headed to a 4th Penske Racing team with UPS as the sponsor.(5-4-200 (2) Latest Stewart Rumor...Bass Pro Shops? There has been no official word from either side, but it is becoming increasingly likely that #20-Tony Stewart will indeed leave car owners Joe and J.D. Gibbs at the end of this season, to start his own team, under the Rick Hendrick Chevrolet [with Haas CNC?] umbrella, possibly with Bass Pro Shops as his sponsor. If Stewart does depart, that would leave the Gibbses looking for a new driver. Joey Logano's chances of getting the nod? Sunday's Carolina 500 at Rockingham Speedway could offer clues. Logano is to start from the pole.(Winston Salem Journal)(5-8-200 "Things get curiouser and curiouser," said Alice as she stepped through the looking glass." Personally, I'll take the Smoke/Bass Pro one and leave you the Truex to Penske one. I still think he'll end up sharing the garage with Junior. Enjoy... |

| Re: Rumours around the garage Well aparently per Roush HMS was after Edwards. To me that means Mears is on his way out. Truex to HMS sounds like a very likely happening. Also from Jayski's: Quote:

Latest Stewart Rumor could be true. However, I would think Home Depot would go with Tony Stewart to continue their relationship. There is so much talk about Tony wanting his own team with virtually no denial by Tony. That tells me his relationship with the Gibbs organization may be ending fairly soon. His replacement in the No. 20 car most likely be Joey Lagano, the now 17 year old wonder. I was at Rockinham today and witnessed a remarkable performance by the "boy wonder". He had a well prepared car by drove a very smart race. With 50 cars on the track he started on the poll and started lapping cars 4 laps later. Traffic was the challenge for him today and he handled it like a pro. He'll be 18 next year and eligible for the NASCAR cup series. |

| Re: Rumours around the garage I think he will be 18 this month. He will be making his NW debut this month. I think we will be seeing alot of him this year now with the Stewing deal and all. |
