So... what is your opinion of Marky Mark? My nickname for him. Do you like him? Is he a whiner? Is he a clean racer like everyone talks about. Did he copy Rusty when he labeled his last year? Tell me what you think and don't mince words...

I am a fan of Mark Martin (Marky Mark).
I think he is a clean driver most of the time but i also think he complains way to much.

No one yet? Okay, I'll go first. He is a big whiner. He is supposedly a "clean" racer. TV says that over and over and over. We saw in the allstar race he's not. He copied Rusty by labelling his supposedly last year, the "salute to you tour". Well now its the salute to us again and he's going to race in the allstar race next year again. Oh, and Ryan Newman is a good person because he backed out but Kahne is not because he didn't. But Marky Mark was right beside him so how dare Kahne not back out and let him go ahead.

Smoke I listened to Mark fuss for two years. Before I retired two+ years ago I was a caregiver and was able to view some race's in between my duties. I don't hardly ever miss a pre-race, race(all three) or post race since I retired. The frist whiner I labled was Mark, and he has not let me down in the two years. I think it was at the end of the 2004 season, Ryan was leading. A late caution came out. If Ryan had pitted no one else would, so he stayed out and every one else pitted. Ryan was able to get a good lead. Just before the white flag Mark decided to pull down on the curve and pass Kasey. A spot where passing was impossible. He did a 180, caution was called and he spun back on the tract lossing only a couple spots. Ryan on old tires was dead meat. I don't remember which Roush driver went to victory lane. No one will ever convince me it was not done intentionally. I wish he would just go advise his son. Its taken the enjoyment out of waching the Truck races for me too. If I took time to really think about it I probably could write a book. I try to be respectful, but he should of left last year.

Yes yes yes yes, agree agree. And Truck racing, oh man, no one ever talks about that here, and ME TOO! Oh, I still watch the trucks but if that idiot #5 or Marky Mark is in the field, you better give up on anyone else winning. Although last weekend I think he had problems. And I cheered. And sounds like that move was very intentional.

I like Mark. It's not by coincidence his peers consider him the standard when it comes to making good decisions on the track. Sure he whines some, but he's alot more tolerable than someone like Stewart.

I like Mark Martin. He has been around for ages, always is giving his crew credit and when he doesn't do well he will accept the blame for poor driving when the car had the ability. I, too, think he has set a standard for many drivers. As for him being a whiner I'll let the rest of you decide that one. I never saw him as one but a bunch of you feel that he does so I will pay a little more attention to what he says. In respect to causing accidents and cutting drivers off ........... who hasn't done that ???? I'd like to see him go out with the championship but time will decide that one.

i like Mark Martin alot he seems soo cool. I think he is doing awesome this year for being his age (i mean that in a good way dont wanna offend anyone that might be older)

Agree with one reservation. Our reflexes arn't what they were 20 years ago. Mark staying up with the younger driver's is awesome, but he needs to back off and remember he was a kid once. I don't know him from when he was young, so I don't know if he was such a fusser then.
