I have no use for Mark Martin. He's quite convinced he's heaven's answer to Nascar and he's a little weasel. But publicly, if anyone asks, I say he's a clean driver who deserves a championship. Otherwise I'd probably get beat up

Not so 99. So far on these forums we have all agreed to disagree without any big who-haas. We may not always agree or see things the same way but as long as we can do it without name calling and other cyberspace tangling we will survive.

As I've noted before I like Martin. Is he a whiner ??? Well I didn't think so but others have said he is so now I will put my pre-judgement of him being a good guy aside and actually listen to what he has to say. I think we all selectively hear what we want to hear from drivers and teams and the rest we dismiss due to anger by that person at that moment.

Personally I would like to see him win a championship. He has added a lot to the sport and has been as good a representative of the sport as anyone else has been. (IMHO)

Mark has a good racing career and I do like him, but ponder on this one! Their is a racer, sorry can't think of his name at the moment I think I saw it in Nascar Illustrated this guy is 70 years old! He races every so often which division I forgot as well! My mind is going a mile a minute to much on my mind today, sorry everyone! LOL!

I've followed Mark since his ASA days. I don't particularly like, or dislike the guy but I respect the Heck out of him. I think he was a better (not necessarily "smarter") driver back in the 90's, when he drove to win and hadn't become a "Big Picture" kinda guy.
I don't believe any NASCAR driver "deserves" anything, but if it were possible to "deserve" a championship, Mark comes about a mile ahead of his closest competitor. I will always believe Bill France Jr. got even with Roush by "stealing" a championship away from Mark.
I just hope the guy quits racing while he's still competitive, and doesn't hang around like a divorced husband at his ex-wife's date and embarrasses himself. (LIke a certain current NASCAR commentator who shall remain nameless. HINT: This guy has a tall, geeky brother in sore need of a haircut, who'll seemingly do anything for money; like some working girls I've seen walking the street here in Mobile)
