| The Subtle Beauty of NASCAR It's quite unlikely that the great Julius Erving, ("Dr. J" to those who know old-school basketball) would play one-on-one against LeBron James... It's probably not realistic to have Joe Montana compete against Eli Manning in today's QB challenge... But where else but motorsports could you have a 70-something former champion driver compete head-to-head against a 20-something up-and-coming star on the same track? David Pearson vs. Carl Edwards makes as much sense as Dr. J vs. LeBron or Joe vs. Eli!!! NASCAR.COM - Even at 73, the Silver Fox knows how to make tracks - Apr 17, 2008 To me, that's what makes this sport very special!

| Re: The Subtle Beauty of NASCAR Don't forget James Hylton. He's 73 years old, (born August 26, 1934) and is a still considered a part-time race car driver. He is a two-time winner in NASCAR and competed part-time in the ARCA RE/MAX Series until 2006, finishing 16th in points. He made headlines while attempting to qualify for the 2007 Daytona 500 at age 72. His official website states that he is scheduled to attempt to qualify for the ARCA RE/MAX Carolina 500 at Rockingham on May 4th. See James Hylton - NASCAR Legend |

| Re: The Subtle Beauty of NASCAR Keep in mind that Hylton is far from the norm. Most drivers today after age 50 (+/-) are done. Agility and reaction time requirements really cannot be met by these older drivers. They are merely running on past laurels. |
